In reality, I am an everyday mum of two kids from Perth, Western Australia. Smoogie came about when hair brushing became a dreaded daily event in our house; I knew things had to change. My daughter, Charlotte, hated having her hair brushed. There were tears every morning, and she would run and hide as soon as she saw me reach for her hairbrush. I realised that there wasn't anything designed for kids that was both gentle on the hair, and effective at removing those stubborn knots and tangles. So Smoogie came about. I did a lot of research, sourced a manufacturer and sent them my design. Charlotte tested all the different prototypes, and we finally came up with the one that transformed our mornings. Smoogie has always been Charlotte’s nickname, so as she was the driving force behind my quest to design the perfect brush, naming it after her seemed only fitting!
